WeatherAI 2026.06.3: Tsunami Information, Europe Weather Alerts, and Faster Severe Warnings

What's New

WeatherAI 2026.06.3 brings tsunami messages from the U.S. Tsunami Warning Centers into the app, extends weather alerts across seven more European countries, and pushes certain severe U.S. warnings as quickly as they become available from the National Weather Service, plus forecast and radar refinements.

Here's everything in this release.

Tsunami Information

You can now follow tsunami messages from the U.S. Tsunami Warning Centers (NTWC and PTWC) right in the app, sourced from tsunami.gov.

• A nearby-first list of recent messages, color-coded by threat level — Warning, Advisory, Watch, or Information
• Detail views with the affected areas, what to do, the triggering earthquake, and estimated wave arrival times
• A map of the affected coastline for each message
• Most messages are informational, meaning no tsunami threat, and the list stays quiet when nothing is active

Europe Weather Alerts

Weather alerts now cover more of Europe, sourced from Meteoalarm. Newly supported countries:

• Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, and Belgium

You can see these alerts on your home screen and the radar map, browse them by country, open full details, and turn on notifications — just like existing alerts.

Faster Severe Alerts in the US

When the National Weather Service issues certain severe alerts, we now push them as quickly as they become available rather than waiting for the next scheduled poll. This covers:

• Tornado Warning
• Severe Thunderstorm Warning
• Flash Flood Warning
• Extreme Wind Warning

You'll need notifications enabled for the relevant alert types, and a saved or current location inside the warned area. Some latency is unavoidable: issuance, our processing, Apple's push infrastructure, and your device's connectivity and background state all sit between the warning and your lock screen. These notifications supplement official emergency channels and don't replace them. Keep NOAA Weather Radio, Wireless Emergency Alerts, and local media in your plan.

WeatherAI Forecast Improvements

The WeatherAI Forecast has been improved for better accuracy.

• In the US, current conditions more accurately reflect whether precipitation is happening right now, and whether it's rain or snow
• Other countries see smaller accuracy gains too, including better handling of precipitation type and intensity

Radar Improvements

A few refinements to radar products.

• Pro radar velocity now differentiates its range of values more clearly
• Some MRMS products handle larger values better — for example, distinguishing 3 in. from 4 in. hail
• Smoother radar tile loading

General Improvements

A collection of smaller refinements throughout the app:

• Added more annotations and overlays to the tropical hub views
• Decluttered the severe weather hub for a cleaner layout
• Added AI summaries to weather watches, on supported devices
• Numbers and percentages across the app, including radar legends, now follow your device's regional formatting

Bug Fixes

This release also irons out a handful of issues.

• Fixed a hang when opening the alerts list from radar
• Fixed an issue where tapping a UK alert notification might not open its details in the app
• Fixed an issue where SPC CIG legend swatches could extend beyond their box
• Fixed an issue on Mac where animations might not play when opening in-app sheets
• Fixed an issue where storm tracks could appear offset from their actual position
• Fixed stale sounding stations that lingered on the map without explaining why their data failed to load
