WeatherAI 2026.02.4: Weather Source Selection, Chat Improvements, and Reorder Favorites
Pro users can now switch between Apple Weather, XWeather, and OpenWeather. Plus, share maps from chats, reorder favorite locations, a new HRRR layer, and more.

WeatherAI 2026.02.4 introduces weather source selection for Pro users, new chat features, reorderable favorites, improved lightning animations, and more.
Here's everything in this release.
Weather Source Selection
Pro users can now switch their weather data source between Apple Weather, XWeather, and OpenWeather. Different sources can be more accurate depending on your region, so we encourage subscribers to try them out and see which works best.
To change your source, head to Settings → Weather Source.
A few things to note:
- When starting a chat, your selected weather source will also be used for weather information when available
- Some features like Widgets and Favorite Locations will still use Apple Weather for the time being — if you'd like to see this change, let us know through Settings → Send Feedback
Chat Improvements
We've made several improvements to the chat experience:
- Share maps from chats — Maps generated in your conversations can now be shared
- Retry failed chats — If something goes wrong, you can now retry
- Regenerate replies — Not satisfied with a response? Regenerate it
New HRRR Layer: Relative Humidity
Relative humidity is now available as an HRRR forecast layer on the radar map. This joins the existing suite of HRRR layers including precipitation, temperature, wind speed, CAPE, dew point, and wind gust.
Lightning Animation Improvements
We've made further improvements to how GLM lightning renders during radar animation. When stepping through radar frames, you should now see lightning on more frames with faster loading times.
Reorder Favorites
You can now drag to reorder your favorite locations in the Locations view. Arrange your saved locations in whatever order makes the most sense to you.
A Note on Recent App Slowness
A user reached out about app slowness on 2/22/26, and we wanted to provide a transparent update. First, thank you to that user for the feedback.
There was a database performance issue that has since been resolved. We're continuing to improve our monitoring so we can catch these issues before they impact your experience. Thank you to everyone for your patience if you were affected.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- Improved radar performance when there are PDS-warned storms (flashing polygons)
- Added a keep screen awake option for the Radar screen (enable in Settings)
- New option to go full screen on the radar by hiding the tab bar
- Fixed some conversion issues with NWS data
- Backend improvements for performance and reliability
Get the Update
WeatherAI 2026.02.4 is available now on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro. If you have automatic updates enabled, you may already have it.
