WeatherAI 2026.02.3: Tides, Shareable Alerts, and New HRRR Layers

What's New
WeatherAI 2026.02.3 brings tide predictions to the app, lets you share weather alerts as images, adds two new HRRR forecast layers, improves lightning data, and more.
Here's everything in this release.
Tides
You can now view tide data for nearby NOAA tide stations directly in WeatherAI. Whether you're planning a beach day, a fishing trip, or just want to know when the water is highest, tide data is now at your fingertips.
Here's what's included:
- High and low tide predictions with times and water levels
- Tide charts showing predicted water levels throughout the day with recent observations overlaid
- Home Screen card displaying the next high and low tides at your nearest station
The tide card will appear when you have a nearby NOAA tide station with available data. To add it to your Home Screen, head to Settings → Customize Home Screen. Note that for existing users, the card is hidden by default — you'll need to enable it manually.
We're planning to add support for more stations and additional tide data in future updates.
Shareable Weather Alerts
When severe weather strikes, keeping others informed matters. You can now share weather alerts by tapping the share button at the bottom of any alert detail screen. This generates a shareable image of the alert that you can send to friends and family to keep them informed about severe weather in their area.
Sharing works across all alert systems — NWS, Canadian, and UK Met Office alerts.
New HRRR Forecast Layers
Two new HRRR layers are now available on the radar map:
- Dew Point — 2-meter dew point temperature, useful for gauging moisture and comfort levels
- Wind Gust — Surface wind gust speed, so you can see where the strongest gusts are expected
These join the existing suite of HRRR layers including precipitation, temperature, wind speed, and CAPE.
Current Weather Widget Alert Badges
Your Current Weather widget just got smarter. If there's an active weather alert for your location, the widget will now display an alert badge with the event name — so you can see at a glance when conditions require attention without even opening the app.
GLM Lightning Improvements
We've improved GLM lightning data fetching, resulting in more reliable and relevant lightning data on the radar map. You should notice better coverage and fewer gaps when tracking thunderstorm activity.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- Fixed a possible crash when viewing HRRR radar data
- Fixed an issue where Home Screen customization changes wouldn't immediately show or hide cards until the weather forecast was refreshed
- Minor UI tweaks and optimizations
- Backend improvements for scalability and stability
Get the Update
WeatherAI 2026.02.3 is available now on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro. If you have automatic updates enabled, you may already have it.
