WeatherAI 2026.05.2: Describe-a-Notification with Apple Intelligence, MRMS Behind Alerts, and a Native Mac App
Create custom weather notifications by describing them in plain language, see MRMS radar behind alert and discussion polygons, get dew point in the daily detail, and enjoy a fully native Mac experience.
What's New
WeatherAI 2026.05.2 lets you create custom Data Point notifications just by describing what you want, layers MRMS radar behind alert and discussion polygons for Pro subscribers, brings a truly native experience to Mac, and refines the animated home hero, on-device AI chat, and several detail views.
Here's everything in this release.
Describe a Notification, On-Device
Custom Data Point notifications can now be created by describing what you want in plain language. Apple Intelligence parses your prompt on-device and proposes one or more notification rules that you can review, tweak, and save.
- Try things like "Tell me when it'll be a good morning for a run" or "Notify me at 7am if there's snow coming"
- Runs entirely on-device with no data leaving your phone (requires Apple Intelligence)
MRMS Radar on Alert & Discussion Maps
Pro subscribers now see high-resolution MRMS reflectivity behind alert and discussion polygons, so you can immediately see where the storms are in relation to the warned area.
- NWS warnings and watches
- SPC Mesoscale Discussions
- WPC Mesoscale Precipitation Discussions
WeatherAI on Mac
WeatherAI no longer uses the iPad UI on Mac. The app now ships a fully native Mac experience with much better performance and a layout designed for larger screens.
Smarter On-Device AI Chat
The on-device AI assistant (Apple Intelligence) has been substantially reworked for better answers and more reliable tool use across METARs, TAFs, alert summaries, and the daily forecast.
Richer Animated Home Hero
The Home Screen's animated sky now reacts to more conditions and renders them more faithfully.
- New ambient presets for thunderstorms, tropical storms, hail, blizzards, heat haze, wildfire smoke, frost, wind streaks, and clear-night stars
- Smoother layering and transitions when conditions change throughout the day
Dew Point in Daily Detail
When using the WeatherAI Forecast as your weather source, the daily forecast detail view now shows maximum, average, and minimum dew point for the day alongside humidity and the other moisture readings.
Paginated Earthquake Lists
The full USGS and EMSC earthquake lists now load in pages, so the first results appear quickly and more load as you scroll — matching the rest of the recently paginated lists.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- Various behind-the-scenes performance and stability improvements
Get the Update
WeatherAI 2026.05.2 is available now on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro. If you have automatic updates enabled, you may already have it.
